Chemical leasing at an aluminium surface-treatment plant
One of our clients, a consumer-packaged goods manufacturer, used hydrochloric acid for its surface treatment processes, resulting in high acid disposal costs. We identified a low-cost solution to remove impurities from the spent acid and extend its useful life. As a result, our client reduced spent acid disposal costs by 20%.

Circular economy assessment for an industrial manufacturer
For an industrial equipment manufacturer, we carried out the group’s first circular economy assessment, rating each division on six pillars. We identified 13 risks tied to its linear model and recommended 17 prioritized actions. The client implemented the roadmap and launched several circular offers.

Sustainable packaging framework for Uber Eats
UBER Eats partnered with GATE C to develop an environmentally aware packaging framework for restaurants in France, and help restaurants make informed decisions for their business.
The framework is in line with the French and global guidelines, which emphasise packaging designed for reuse or recycling.
Potential for developing packaging reuse
For ADEME, a French government agency, we assess the potential of packaging reuse models for 40 economic sectors. We conducted the analysis on the basis of more than 50 interviews and a review of more than 200 studies and research papers.
We developed a Reduce-Reuse-Recycle roadmap for the Fédération des Entreprises de la Boulangerie and the National Confederation of French Bakery and Pastry to phase out single-use plastic packaging by 2040. We inventoried packaging used by the bakery-pastry sector, identified problematic packaging and proposed alternative packaging, when available.
For the city of Antony in France, we evaluated the economic, social and environmental impacts of reusable packaging for school catering (food preparation, distribution and consumption).

Action plan for a circular energy transition
We published a study making the case for an urgent transition of the renewable energy sector to a circular economy model. The report, ‘For a Circular Energy Transition: Action Plan for Industry, Policymakers and Investors’, was requested by the Green Purposes Company, a special shareholder in the Green Investments Group.
Wind energy material requirements in the UK
Drawing on our modelling work, the RSC published the report “Not out of thin air” in December 2024, which calls for a national materials strategy built on circularity.
