What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when you visit a website. It allows, among other things, your device to be recognised on subsequent visits.

Strictly necessary cookies: set by GATE C, including the site’s language cookie (Polylang, “pll_language”, which remembers whether you are viewing the French or English version) and the cookie that stores your cookie consent choice. They are kept for up to 6 months.

Security cookies: Google reCAPTCHA, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, protects our contact form against fraudulent or automated submissions. This cookie is considered necessary for the proper functioning and security of the form and may therefore be set without prior consent.

Audience measurement cookies (_ga, _gid, _gat, among others): set by Google Ireland Limited as part of Google Analytics, they produce anonymised traffic statistics used to improve the content and usability of the site. They are kept for a maximum of 13 months and are only set after you give consent.

Social media cookies: the website embeds LinkedIn (LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company) widgets or buttons, which may set cookies allowing LinkedIn to recognise you if you are logged into your account. These cookies are only set after you give consent.

The website does not currently use any advertising cookies. The site’s fonts (Google Fonts) are hosted directly on our own server: no request is sent to Google’s servers for this purpose, and no cookie results from it.

Your consent

From your first visit, a banner informs you about the use of cookies and lets you accept, reject, or configure non-essential cookies (audience measurement, social media). Strictly necessary and security cookies (site language, consent choice, reCAPTCHA) are set without prior consent, in line with CNIL (the French data protection authority) guidance. You can change your choice at any time via the cookie management module accessible from the website footer.

Managing cookies from your browser

You can also configure your browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) to accept, refuse, or be notified before cookies are installed, via its privacy settings. Refusing certain cookies may affect your browsing experience on the site.
